Ammique joins Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s community

As an approved organisation, Ammique is delighted to be part of Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s community.

The Ellen MacArthur network “brings together businesses, innovators, cities, governments, universities, and thought leaders to build and scale a circular economy.

The transition to a circular economy requires action from all stakeholders across the globe. We have created a movement to enable thousands of organisations to join together as a community to accelerate the transition – through insights, events, learning, and access to our Community Platform of circular economy practitioners.”

The Foundation works “with the world’s leading and most influential organisations, with transformative potential, to demonstrate what is possible through strategy and goals at company-wide level, and engagement with Network activities such as collaborative projects and bi-annual workshops.”

Innovative businesses understand the need to adapt, the power of flexibility and the need to take a long-term view. They appreciate the value of product longevity, of being able to use and, even more crucially, reuse products multiple times. By keeping track of every component, product, and process they minimize cost by minimizing waste. Transformation starts at the concept stage with product designers seeking to prioritise recycled and recyclable materials in their manufacturing processes. At Ammique, we use over 90% reprocessed material for our plastic components, and all materials used for our components are carefully selected to ensure they are used in the most sustainable way.

Ammique helps reduce the continuous flow of millions of bulky mattresses that are manufactured, distributed, and then disposed year after year. It is a circular business that uses waste to create durable, high performance, modular mattress-free beds that need never go to landfill. Working to create structures that will make it possible to scale by collaborating with other businesses worldwide, Ammique can offer local opportunities, jobs and wealth.

Audrey Choi from Morgan Stanley, Marianna Mazzucato from UCL, Hans Bruyninckx from EEA, Tim Brown from IDEO, and Dame Ellen MacArthur discuss how we can achieve growth within a circular economy. This discussion took place at Summit 21, which was live streamed in June 2021. The event took place over three days and focused on climate and the circular economy, growing a circular economy, and changing the system towards a circular economy.
